The Lagos Eko Project has consistently been rated Highly Satisfactory, the highest rating by the World Bank since inception. The project is one of the very few World Bank Projects in Nigeria and indeed Africa that has been recognised with such excellence.

School Development Grant

The objective of the School Development Grant is to raise learning outcomes in public junior and senior secondary schools by providing access to yearly discretionary grant with an explicit focus on improving the quality of education services as priority needs are identified at school level.

School Performance Award (Governor Education Award)

The objective of the award is to sustain the gains made in learning outcomes by providing additional performance based incentive to qualifying schools. The awards are given to schools that have achieved improvements based on the school’s composite score in standardised tests in English, Mathematics and the Sciences as compared to previous years result.

Private Sector Collaboration for Technical Education

The partnership grants for technical education are intended to improve the quality of teaching, research and skills development at the five technical colleges and make them more relevant to the demands of employment and entrepreneurship. The main thrust of these collaborations is to key into the Lagos state’s vision of human capital development particularly targeting areas such as infrastructural development, transportation, housing, and independent power projects.

Student's Assessment

Students assessments- establishes a standardised system for measuring students’ learning achievement in the core subject areas ( English, Mathematics and the Sciences) Standardised Students Assessment monitors the improvement of students’ learning achievement from the baseline and generates consistent and reliable data for planning, budgeting and the Governors Education Award which drives competitiveness in our schools.

Teachers Professional Development

Lagos State school leaders have been given the autonomy to identify training required for their staff, select the appropriate TSP to carry out the training and pay the TSP from the school budget. This is part of the process of developing school leadership.

Volunteer Teachers Scheme (VTS)

Lagos State VTS was established to address the shortage of teachers especially in core subject areas such as English Language, Mathematics and the Sciences. The scheme brings together dedicated and resourceful professionals who are able to contribute their quota to the overall vision of excellence of the present Lagos State administration.
